Mwanza doctors to add support to Kagera


The government has beefed up medical personnel in Bukoba regional hospital to fast track treatment for earthquake victims.
The 15 specialist doctors, according to information services, are coming from mwanza.
Reports from Bukoba said so far over 250 people are hospitalized while the death toll has climbed to 17.
The Kagera Regional Commissioner, Mr Salim Kijuu, told the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s office, Ms Jennister Mhagama, who arrived in Bukoba Municipality yesterday afternoon that 17 people have been confirmed to have died from the tremor.
Ms Mhagama commended Kagera leaders, medical doctors and nurses for responding positively to the disaster by attending the injured people and those who died.
In another development, the government said, all donations for the last Saturday 5.7 Richter quake should be directed to PM office or Kagera Region office.
