3 killed and 19 injured in a car accident in Dodoma after a front tyre burst

The acting Dodoma Regional Police Commander (RPC), Mayala Towo, said here yesterday that the lorry with registration number T 689 BEG was heading to Dodoma municipality from an auction at Mgaga area.

“The deceased’s bodies have been preserved at Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital pending collection by relatives. The injured persons have been admitted to the same hospital for medical treatment,” said the RPC.

Mr Mayala pointed out that the police were still investigating the incident to establish cause of the accident. The Dodoma Regional Medical Officer, Dr Zainabu Chaula, confirmed to have received three bodies of the deceased and 19 injured persons, saying the injured persons were recovering.

Dr Chaula named the deceased as Isdori Thomas Motto (38), Michael Msongela (29) and Elias Masimo Petro (51), all residents of Dodoma. She said 12 injured persons were discharged after medication and that seven others who are in critical condition have been admitted to the hospital.
