Five perish in Manyoni road accidents

Singida Regional Police Commander, Thobias Sedoyeka named the deceased as Ahmed Musa (65), a resident of Kintinku, Manyoni, Saidi Arafat (30), a resident of Dodoma, Charles Mesomapya (52), Juma Mboje (43) and Adam Sadik (36), both residents of Muhalala village in Manyoni District.

Those injured are Adam Seif (63) and Abdallah Mohamed (62), all residents of Manyoni town. He said that both accidents occurred on July 14 this year at different locations in the district.

In the first accident which occurred at Tambukareli area in Manyoni town along the Manyoni – Dodoma highway, Geoffrey Msengeni, the driver of an oil tanker with registration number T 373 BAP pulling trailer with registration number T 703 AFR collided with a Toyota Noah with registration number T 159 AZX causing the deaths of two men and injuring two.

He said that in the second accident which happened at 7:00pm at Muhalala hill, Leo Kariwa who was driving a bus with registration number T 163 BUS, property of Osaka Company knocked to death three pedestrians who were giving help to another vehicle which had failed to climb a hill.

According to the RPC, the cause of both accidents is negligence attributed by the driver of the truck and of the bus who failed to comply with the existing road safety regulations.
