Government document forgers arrested in Dar
Dar es Salaam Zonal Police Commander, Mr Simon Sirro, has named the suspects as Ashraff Maumba (37), Mwamba Seif (38) and Mahmudu Zuber (24), all residents of Buguruni.
Commander Sirro said on July 8, this year, at around 10pm the police was tipped off by Good Samaritans that at Buguruni, Ghana Street, there were people suspected to be involved in illicit drug dealings and other criminal activities.
“After conducting a search in their residences, we found several forged government documents including 50 Form Four certificates, Surface and Marine Transport Regulatory Authority (SUMATRA) stickers (20), medical certificates, birth certificates (10) and standard seven leaving certificates.
Others include fake College of Business Education (CBE) certificates, business licences and insurance documents (100). In the search, the police managed to discover several seals from both public and private offices including fake government official seals.
