The village chairman who comes from opposition party CHADEMA said villigers are behind the President and that they will work hand in hand with the President to fullfill his policy "Only work Here".
According to the President, the government had already accomplished a feasibility study ahead of the implementation of the project.
In addition, Dr Magufuli warned officials who were collecting tax from small-scale farmers when carrying their produce from their farms. “We need to collect tax but we should not disturb poor people.
There are people who have been taxing farmers who are carrying their crops from their farms’’ he said, adding: I do not want you to harass poor farmers.’’
On the request to establish a new region in Tabora, the head of state said he had no plans to establish new regions in the country. Instead, he added, funds allocated for the envisaged regions would be channelled to provision of social services including water, infrastructure and health services.
Dr Magufuli continued with his regional tour that kicked off in Singida Region on Friday. Before entering Tabora Region the president addressed residents of Misigiri town in Iramba District.
In Iramba District, Dr Magufuli directed Tanzania National Roads Agency (Tanroads) district manager to make sure that Sibiti bridge contractor was contacted immediately so that the construction of the bridge is accomplished soon.
“My government is well prepared to pay that contractor and there is no need for any further delay in the construction of the bridge,’’ he added. He assured Tabora residents that his government was committed to ensuring that it implements the 2015 election manifesto to the fullest and that all the pledges he made during his presidential campaigns last year would be delivered.
In Igunga District, Dr Magufuli took time to listen to complaints from people who were carrying placards.
Among them, was the delay in operationalising the Igunga bus stand and market. The president directed the district commissioner, regional commissioner and the district executive director to make sure that the bus stand and market in the district started working by the end of business tomorrow.
